This knife was hand shaped from carbon steel to craft a knife based on 18th century European and American examples of blades that would have been common place in the waist belt of a colonial solder or at the dining table of a country house. Working with period tools over a coal fired forge. This interpretation of an early knife has a walnut handle decorated with a traditional pattern of checkering and dots copying several surviving examples. The handle was sealed with multiple coats of linseed oil and bees wax and the handle is secured with iron rivets. The tang tapers to the back like the originals which improves balance and preserves metal. This knife would be the perfect gift for the history buff re-enactor or anyone that would like a quality blade.

The blade of this knife measures 3 1/2" long with a handle 3 7/8" long and an overall measurement of 7 3/8"

The sheath is made from waxed leather and made to fit the blade well.
