This knife was hand shaped from carbon steel to craft a knife based on 18th century European and American examples of blades that would have been common place in the waist belt of a colonial solder or at the dining table of a country house. Working with period tools over a coal fired forge. This interpretation of an English knife has a smooth walnut wood handle that have been sealed with multiple coats of linseed oil and finished with beeswax. The scales have been secured with iron rivets. The tang tapers to the back like the originals which improves balance and preserves metal. This knife would be the perfect gift for the history buff re-enactor or anyone that would like a quality blade.
The blade of this knife measures 10 1/8" long with a handle 4 7/8" long and an overall measurement of 15"
The sheath is made from 8 oz. Waxed leather and made to fit the blade well.
