This knife was hand forged from 5160 carbon steel and hand filed into shape leaving some of the forge and file marks in the blade for a traditional look.

The handle is made from locally harvested cherry wood that has been stained with traditional Aqua Fortis* stain and finished with multiple coats of linseed oil and beeswax and secured to the tang with three iron pins. The tang of this knife tapers or thins at its base just as some of the original examples do.

This knife has a blade that measures 5 1/4” long with a handle that measures 4 3/4” long and an overall measurement of 9 3/4”

The sheath is made from 8 oz. Waxed leather and made to fit the blade well.

*Aqua Fortis is a very old Nitric Acid based wood stain used heavily on gun stocks, furniture, and musical instruments in the 18th century
