This Listing is for the trade cross only. No cord chain or other props are included. Thank you.
This cross was inspired by the traditional trade silver commonly seen in early America from the early french & Indian war to the late fur trade era.
This trade cross is made from .925 Sterling Silver and measures 2 1/8" high by 1 1/16" wide and 0.025" thick or approximately half the thickness of a standard American dime. The reason this piece is so thin is to better resemble an original example from this time period. Most trade silver was manufactured in Europe and transported into the Americas for trade with the Native population, and as a result of having to transport large quantities of trade goods like this across the Atlantic ocean by ship and then into the American frontier on oxen and horseback, and as a result most pieces were made very thin to allow more trade items to be carried in a lighter package.
