This knife was hand forged from 5160 carbon steel to resemble the style of a traditional Highland belt knife.
The handle is crafted from locally harvested curly birch wood that has been stained with Aqua Fortis stain and sealed with multiple coats of linseed oil and beeswax.
This knife measures 15 7/8" overall with a blade that measures 10 5/8" and a handle that measures 5 1/4".
The sheath is made from 8 oz. Waxed leather and made to fit the blade well.
Aqua Fortis is a very old Nitric Acid based wood stain used heavily on gun stocks, furniture, and musical instruments in the 18th century.
