The blade of this knife was hand forged from 5160 carbon steel recycled from the coil springs off of an old truck and hand filed into shape leaving some of the forge and file marks in the blade just as some of the originals have.
The handle is made from polished elk antler secured to the tang with three brass pins.
This knife has an integral bolster forged into the top of the handle that has been decorated with some file work.
The tang of this knife tapers to its base as was done on some 18th century examples. This was done to conserve metal and to make the entire knife a little lighter.
This knife has a blade that measures 3 1/2“, a handle that measures 3 3/4“ and an overall measurement of 7 3/8“.
This knife also comes with a hand stitched waxed leather sheath that has been made to fit the blade well.
