This knife was hand forged from 5160 carbon steel recycled from the shock springs off of an old truck, and hand filed into its final shape while leaving some of the forge and file marks in the blade to give a wonderful traditional look.
The handle of this knife is made from locally harvested cherry wood that has been stained with Aqua Fortis* and has a hand carved effigy of a head. The handle also has some carved checkering to help improve grip.
The sheath is made from 8 once waxed leather and has been made to fit the blade well.
The blade of this knife measures 15 1/4" long with a handle that measures 6 1/4" long and an overall measurement of 21 3/8".
*Aqua Fortis is a very old Nitric Acid based wood stain used heavily on gun stocks, furniture, and musical instruments in the 18th century.
