This knife was hand forged from 5160 carbon steel recycled from the shock springs off a large truck and hand forged and filed into shape leaving some forge and file marks in the blade and then hardened and tempered for good edge holding.

The handle of this knife is made from cherry wood carved into a spiral pattern and stained with Aqua fortis then sealed with multiple coats of linseed oil and finished with beeswax. The pommel of the knife has an iron cap made to look like a turtle. The tang goes all the way through the handle and is penned together very securely.

Sheath is made from 8oz waxed leather and made to fit the blade well.

Aqua fortis is an old nitric acid based wood stain used heavily on rifle stocks in the eighteenth century

This knife measures approximately 14 3/4" overall with a 9 7/8" long blade and a 4 7/8" handle.

This knife would be the perfect gift for the history buff re-enactor or anyone that would like a quality blade.
